The Helene Fuld Pavilion provides high-fidelity simulation facilitation for 1,300 students in both graduate and undergraduate courses each year.
Education Through Simulation
Featuring course content spanning from neonatal acute care to adult gerontology, the Helene Fuld Pavilion facilitates learning experiences for 12 undergraduate and 25 graduate courses each year.
The simulation center is approximately 7,000 square feet and utilizes four high fidelity simulation rooms, one hybrid fidelity simulation room, two low fidelity rooms featuring 27 exam bays, and one hybrid fidelity home care suite to immerse students in a wide array of scenarios. Audio/visual capture in every room allows for seamless review of both experiential encounters and high-stakes assessments.
Simulation Education Specialists and Operations Team members collaborate to achieve varied learning goals using combinations of tools, including:

- Task trainers
- Peer-led physical assessments
- Audio/visual supplements
- Virtual and augmented reality
Reaching Eco-friendly Milestones
Click the image to learn more about writing the Green Fund Application.This spring, the Helene Fuld Pavilion reached an eco-friendly milestone by getting its Green Fund Application for hiring an environmental consultant approved. Titled “Nursing: A Real Look into Recycling in the Simulated Health Care Environment,” the application architects were Diana Alberti, Simulation Operations Manager, Lucia DiNapoli, Assistant Dean/Office of the Dean, and Joe Gomez, Senior Building Administrator and Chair of the Sustainability Committee. Student Eco-reps partnering in the project were Angelique Agudo, Class of ’21, majoring in Nursing with a minor in Global Health, and Chris Kwok, Class of ’22, considering studying Environmental Sciences. The Green Fund Application was written by attaining both peer institution and local healthcare partner comparison and observing simulation activities. The acceptance of the application and hiring of a consultant will result in more intel regarding how best to embrace environmentally-friendly practices while remaining the nation’s top simulation lab.
The Helene Fuld Pavilion continues to enhance its sustainability efforts through the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Already a Level Three Green Office, the lab recently improved its recycling policy and is orienting students and faculty to the process for recycling plastic kits used in training. This initiative resulted in the recycling of about 790 kits during the summer term and 1,200 during the fall semester.
