Graduate Nutrition Certificate

Nutrition is an integral part of human existence and vital to maintenance of health and prevention of disease. Nutrition science is alive with ever deeper underpinnings of linkages between nutrients and health together with their mechanisms of action. Knowledge about this exciting field can enrich your understanding of how your body works.

Our Program

Our Graduate Nutrition Certificate is designed for graduate students who desire more advanced education in nutrition taught by top researchers, clinicians, and educators. For the past 25 years, Penn Nursing has provided outstanding nutrition training at the undergraduate level. 

Our faculty have deep backgrounds in nutrition science and dietetics. Their research includes human and basic science studies in obesity, oncology, gastrointestinal disease, and community nutrition.

Coursework

You are required to complete four-course units from the list of all graduate nutrition courses listed from the graduate certificate curriculum. 

 

Certification

This certificate is not linked to any clinical credentialing body. The courses provide didactic information but are not designed to increase clinical skills.

The Graduate Nutrition Certificate will enable you to certify basic knowledge of nutrition science, preparations that will be valuable for your own health and lifestyle management. It will augment the skills and insight that you will bring to professional roles or policy-development activities.
