Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications team manages, protects, and strengthens the mission and global brand of Penn Nursing, and is the School’s central office for all news publications, press releases, media relations, and public affairs.

Marketing & Communications is also the central resource and first point of contact for the Penn Nursing website, the School’s social media channels, print publications, event marketing, plasma screen content, advertising, photography and videography requests, and any graphic design needs related to digital or print materials and collateral.

Branding

Our office adheres to the University’s branding and style guide to ensure a look and feel that is consistent with the University, and maintains the strength of the Penn brand across the globe. We also provide a web style guide, which can be found here .

To assist members of the School and University community, we provide a number of resources to meet a variety of needs: Powerpoint templates and themes, poster presentation templates, and Penn Nursing logo files (PennKey required to access logo files). For information specific to design requests, please see the multimedia and design section below, or visit our multimedia & design request page

External communications and media relations

Our office encourages members of the Penn Nursing community to work with us in order to successfully promote news that may be of interest to the media and the University community through our various communication tools: the Penn Nursing website, Penn Nursing News  (digital newsletter), Penn Nursing magazine, social media platforms, news releases, event advisories, etc. Items to consider for promotion include: study results selected for publication in high-impact journals, major grants, important collaborations, prominent appointments and significant awards. Faculty can also contact our office to discuss best practices for media interviews, the use of social media and other communication vehicles. For study results to have the most impact, it is helpful to notify us when findings are first accepted for publication. Our office will work with the publishing journal in order to maintain distribution embargoes that may be placed on the information.

Multimedia & design

Nursing’s Marketing & Communication’s office has a graphic designer on staff to help manage the visual identity of the School, and provide fee-free design services to its community. In addition to design services, the team also arranges professional photography and collaborates with departments and groups to capture images or video for events and marketing.

All photography at the University that captures students, faculty, staff, or guests requires a signed release form for all subjects.
