Concurrent Two-Degree Options

Interdisciplinary learning and collaboration are core values of the Penn Nursing experience. That’s why we offer students the opportunity to concurrently pursue other degrees across the university.

Each degree program requires students to submit separate applications although once accepted to the MSN program we share application materials with other programs as possible. Faculty advisors from each program collaborate on developing an efficient and enriching plan of study based on your career interests.

Master of Bioethics (MBE)

Students in the Health Leadership program who have an interest in topics and issues in contemporary bioethics have the option to complete a 14 CU dual MSN/MBE program.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Students in the Health Leadership program who aspire to become public health practitioners can simultaneously pursue their MSN and MPH degrees for a total of a 16 CUs.

Master in Law (ML) - Health Law Track

Health Leadership master’s students interested in legal issues, regulation, and healthcare reform are encouraged to apply to Penn’s Master in Law (ML) program and will graduate with a MSN and ML for a total of 14 CUs.

Master in Healthcare Quality and Safety (MHQS)

Health Leadership students interested in leading healthcare quality and safety initiatives or in positions that oversee population health, health equity, or value-based care in a healthcare system can simultaneously complete a 14 CU MSN/MHQS program.
