  • Black Maternal Morbidity and Mortality - Beyond the WHY!

    Black Maternal Health Week (April 11 - 17) is a weeklong opportunity to build awareness, activism, and amplify the voices of birth workers and Black mothers who have lived experience. We know why Black women and babies are dying during or after childbirth.  Penn Nursing’s Center for Global Women’s Health, in collaboration with the National Coalition for 100 Black Women hosted a special panel presentation of dynamic birth workers and researchers who center the traditions of the reproductive and birth justice movements while discussing best practices and next steps in increasing the birth outcomes of Black mothers.
