Interdisciplinary learning and collaboration are core values of the Penn Nursing experience. That’s why we offer students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels the opportunity to pursue dual degrees across Penn’s campus.
BSN Dual Degrees
| Nursing and Healthcare Management Coordinated Dual Degree |
| Through a special collaboration between Nursing and The Wharton School, we offer a coordinated dual degree program that covers the rapidly changing reality of financing healthcare in the United States. Graduates earn a BSN and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (BS Econ) from Wharton with a concentration in Health Care Management and Policy. |

Students may elect to simultaneously complete the BSN requirements along with those of the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, or the Wharton School. A student pursuing a dual degree must satisfy the requirements for both degrees and will ultimately earn two bachelor’s degrees from two separate schools of the university. Completing the requirements of both schools requires a heavy courseload and may require more than four years to complete, depending upon AP credits and how many courses overlap both schools’ requirements. Careful planning with advisors from both schools is an critical component of successfully navigating a dual degree. The application process for a dual degree varies among the undergraduate schools. MSN Dual Degrees
All dual degree programs require students to submit separate applications to (and be accepted by) both programs.
| Master of Bioethics (MBE) |
| Students in the Health Leadership program have the option to complete the Masters in Bioethics (MBE) program concurrently with the MSN degree. |
| Master of Public Health (MPH) |

Students complete ten MPH courses - nine core courses and one MPH elective - along with their MSN program requirements, leading to a joint MSN/MPH degree. This dual degree option has been approved for students in the below MSN programs:

| Master in Law (ML) - Health Law Track |
| Health Leadership master’s students interested in legal issues, regulation, and healthcare reform are encouraged to apply to Penn Law’s Master in Law (ML) program and will graduate with a joint MSN/ML. |
PhD Dual Degrees
All dual degree programs require students to submit separate applications to (and be accepted by) both programs.
| Master of Bioethics (MBE) |
| Combining a PhD with an MBE from the School of Medicine and the Center for Bioethics provides students with a deep understanding of ethical issues in healthcare research, practice, and policy. |
